Tom: Hi, Grandma! I came to see how you’re getting on with your new assistant.
Rosa: Tommy! Come in. Max and I are best friends now. My neighbour Greta set him up for me last week.
Tom: Great. So what does Max do for you?
Rosa: Everything! On Tuesday it was my friend Helen’s birthday. I asked Max to send her a short message.
Tom: That’s nice. What did it write?
Rosa: A poem. Fourteen lines. It rhymed „Helen” with „melon”.
Tom: Oh no. Was she upset?
Rosa: No, she loved it! She wants Max to write her husband’s birthday card too.
Tom: Okay… What else?
Rosa: I said, „Max, book me an appointment with the dentist.” And he did. Three times.
Tom: Three appointments?
Rosa: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The dentist thinks I have a very serious problem.
Tom: Grandma! You need to check before you confirm. And why are there so many books on the table?
Rosa: Ah. Last week I was on the phone with my sister and I said, „Tom never calls me.” Max heard me.
Tom: And?
Rosa: He ordered six books for you. How to Be a Better Grandson, Family First, The Lost Art of the Phone Call…
Tom: He’s listening to your conversations? Grandma, that’s a privacy problem! Max is going too far.
Rosa: Maybe. But it’s nice when somebody listens.
Tom: Okay, that hurt a little.
Max: Good evening, Rosa. It’s seven o’clock. This is your daily reminder: Tom has not called for twelve days.
Tom: Every evening?
Rosa: Every evening. Max is very reliable.
Tom: Right. Let me change the settings. No more listening, no more ordering books…
Max: Are you sure? Rosa may feel lonely. Shall I add „Call Grandma” to Tom’s calendar every Sunday?
Tom: You know what, Max? That’s actually a good idea. Yes. I promise, Grandma — every Sunday.
Rosa: See? I told you. Max is the best thing in this house. After you, of course.
