Chloe: OK, Ben, I’ve made a list. Friday: Big Ben, Westminster, the London Eye. Saturday: Buckingham Palace, the British Museum and a musical in the evening.
Ben: The British Museum, yes. A musical — definitely. But the London Eye? It’s expensive, there’s always a queue, and you just go round in a circle for half an hour.
Chloe: It’s iconic! Everybody does it!
Ben: That’s exactly my point. Listen — I read this blog. You can book a free ticket for the Sky Garden and see the whole city. Or we go up a hill in Hampstead at sunset, with a picnic.
Chloe: Hmm. A picnic at sunset does sound nice. And what about food? I wanted to try a proper English breakfast.
Ben: Breakfast in a café, fine. But for lunch we’re going to Borough Market. Cheese, fresh bread, street food from everywhere.
Chloe: Deal. What else is on your secret list?
Ben: A walk along Regent’s Canal. Narrowboats, little cafés, no crowds.
Chloe: OK, here’s my compromise. Saturday morning: your canal walk. Afternoon: my British Museum. Evening: the musical. Sunday: your Sky Garden and the market.
Ben: And Friday?
Chloe: Friday is mine. Westminster and Big Ben. I’m not going to London without a selfie with Big Ben.
Ben: Fair enough. And if it rains?
Chloe: It’s London, Ben. It will rain. Then we stay longer in the museum — it’s free, and it’s dry.
Ben: Perfect plan. Classics and hidden gems.
