Mia: Carlos? Is that you under that sheet?
Carlos: Yes! I’m a ghost. Boooo!
Mia: Wait… is that my sheet? From my bed?
Carlos: Er… yes. But it’s for Halloween!
Mia: Can you see anything?
Carlos: Not really. I cut two holes, but they’re in the wrong place. I can only see my shoes. Ouch! Who put that door there?
Mia: The door is always there, Carlos.
Carlos: Okay, okay. I’ll make bigger holes later. How’s your pumpkin?
Mia: Look! It’s a scary monster.
Carlos: Hmm. It looks like a sad potato.
Mia: It’s not a potato! It’s a monster!
Carlos: A very tired monster. Maybe it needs a holiday.
Mia: Very funny. What about the sweets for the children? Did you buy them?
Carlos: Yes, I bought three big bags.
Mia: Great. Where are they?
Carlos: Well… there was a horror film on TV last night. I was nervous. And when I’m nervous, I eat.
Mia: You ate all the sweets?
Carlos: Not all! I left one lollipop.
Mia: One lollipop? The children are coming at six!
Carlos: Oh no… that’s the doorbell! They’re here!
Mia: Quick! What do we have in the kitchen?
Carlos: Two apples, a carrot… and some toothbrushes.
Mia: Toothbrushes?
Carlos: They were on special offer. Ten for two euros.
Child: Trick or treat!
Carlos: Happy Halloween! Er… would you like a… toothbrush?
Child: A toothbrush?! That’s the scariest thing I’ve ever seen!
Mia: Next year, I’m buying the sweets.
Carlos: Good idea. And I’m buying a real ghost costume.
